Safety
Universal Safety

- Do not approach anyone operating equipment. Stand patiently in their field of view.
Equipment-Specific Safety
To use this tool, completing the Ceramics Studio Introduction (CSI) class is required. Get started by securing a spot in one of the CSI classes.
Use Case
The pottery wheel is a versatile tool used to shape and form clay by rotating on a flat surface, allowing the potter to manipulate the clay into symmetrical shapes, such as bowls, plates, vases, or mugs.
Etiquette
There are five pottery wheels available in the studio. To use a pottery wheel, please reserve one at Skedda
Materials
Acceptable Materials
List of materials allowed or not allowed (whichever is easiest) on this tool
e.g. no metal, no lubricants, no wet glue, no chlorinated materials
Required pre-processing (e.g. pre-jointed / planed lumber before table saw)

- Return the equipment to neutral.
- Clean up any clay around the tool.
- Clear the floor of any tripping hazards, like power cords.
- Leave the shop 110% better than you found it.
