The Brent Pottery Wheel is a machine used to shape clay, and the studio has 5 near the back of the ceramics room.

Safety

Universal Safety

  • Be aware of your surroundings, especially when handling large materials.
  • Do not approach anyone operating equipment. Stand patiently in their field of view.

Ceramics Studio Introduction (CSI) is required to use this tool.

Tool Use

Cleanup

The ceramic studio is a shared space therefore cleaning after use is expected.

  • Return the equipment to neutral.
  • Clean up any clay around the tool.
  • Clear the floor of any tripping hazards, like power cords.
  • Leave the shop 110% better than you found it.

Example for Miter Saw:

  1. Brush off top surface
  2. Brush around machine
  3. Clean infeed and outfeed tables
  4. Sweep floor
  5. Wall vacuum hose works well
