Atlas Copco GX4 Air Compressor
Primary shop air is supplied by an Atlas Copco GX4 5HP rotary-screw air compressor. It's equipped with a refrigerated air dryer and provides approximately 16cfm of 150psi air.
The thing to know is the system switch is a latching relay. It will be reset (disabled state) due to power outage or if it overheats. This will make the green LED on front go out. First, confirm there is oil in the sight window. If the oil is low, do not attempt to restart just red tag. Low oil is the primary cause of overheating, but only occurs due to another system problem, most likely a clog in the oil scavenger which cannot be remedied even by refilling.
With oil confirmed, it may have reset to inactive due to just a power outage. Contact a steward if available. With the red/yellow power in the ON position, and the dryer switch in the ON position as well, toggle the black "1/0" switch to 1 and release. The LED indicator should light and the system will start if pressure is low. At this point the system is on and you can use it without further concern. Always file a Problem Report so we are aware of it.
If the unit's green light goes out again, do not attempt a second restart. File a PR and put a red tag on it
