Atlas Copco GX4 Air Compressor

From Asmbly Wiki

The thing to know is the system switch is a latching relay. It will be reset (disabled state) due to power outage or if it overheats. This will make the green LED on front go out. First, Contact a steward if available.

Check that the red/yellow rotary switch is in the ON position. If it is OFF, red-tag if not already because someone manually turned it off for a reason. Then confirm there is oil in the sight window. If the oil is low, do not attempt to restart just red tag and file a Problem Report. Low oil is the primary cause of overheating, but oil loss only occurs due to another system problem, most likely a clog in the oil scavenger which cannot be remedied even by refilling.

If red/yellow switch was ON and oil is present, it may have reset to inactive due to just a power outage. With the red/yellow power switch in the ON position, and the dryer switch in the ON position as well, toggle the black "1/0" switch to 1 and release. The LED indicator should light and the system will start if pressure is low. At this point the system is on and you can use it without further concern. Always file a Problem Report so we are aware of it.

If the unit's green light goes out again, do not attempt a second restart. Turn the red/yellow rotary switch to OFF, file a PR and put a red tag on it

If you find the unit venting uncontrolled, a drain valve is stuck. Turn the red/yellow switch to OFF, red tag, and file that PR. Many operations depend on the compressor so we need to know ASAP and will address it immediately.
