Equal Opportunity Policy
Asmbly Makerspace is committed to the policy of equal opportunity in employment and volunteer service in accordance with established federal, state and local EEO laws and regulations.
Scope
This policy of nondiscrimination applies to employment, training, compensation, promotion, transfer, social and recreational programs, and all other conditions of employment or volunteer service.
Policy Elements
It is the policy of Asmbly to:
- Recruit and employ qualified persons on the basis of merit without regard to race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, ethnicity, sex, age, religion, military or veteran status, marital status, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected class as set forth under applicable state and federal civil rights laws.
- This policy covers all aspects of employment, including hiring, placement, upgrading, transfer, demotion, recruitment, recruitment advertising, selection for training and apprenticeship, rates of pay or other forms of compensation, and layoff or termination.
- Follow personnel procedures that will ensure equal opportunity for all people. Employment and volunteer service decisions will be based on the individual’s qualifications to perform the job or role.
- Make reasonable accommodations wherever necessary for all employees, volunteers or applicants with disabilities, provided that the individual is otherwise qualified to perform the major functions of the job or role.
- Prohibit retaliation, discharge or otherwise discrimination against any employee or applicant for employment who has inquired about, discussed or disclosed their compensation.
- Thoroughly investigate instances of alleged discrimination and take corrective action if warranted.
Problems or Complaints
